In Japan there is a brand called “Down and Out” which makes luxury products for Women such as Designer Purses etc. In the UK a “down and out” is a very undesirable person. In other countries does it have the same negative connotations?
Yeah, I got one.
Many manuals here in the US are translated by British Translators. One thing which is a dead give away is when you read “WARNING – THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED!” Here we use “grounded”. Earthed here in the US sounds like, “I want a bigger TV, let`s earth it and see if it grows!”
