What makes a good language teacher
Teaching a language is far different to teaching a subject like Chemistry or Maths. So we all want to know, as a teacher or as a student, what makes a good language teacher?

Patience and understanding backed up with knowing your grammar inside out as students are always ready to pick up on the slightest mistake.
As a language teacher all I can say is that sometimes it entirely depends on the group of students you are in control of. However, being a good teacher implies having lots of interesting updated resources, IT, patience and understanding of every individual you are teaching. Great knowledge and proficiency in the language you are teaching are vital aspects.
For me what makes a good language teacher is your personality when coming to tell things. I know it is difficult to be original nowadays however if you have been born with the skill to explain things with a bit of humour, that is what really counts.
You are right, Helen, I entirely agree. Good sense of humour and knowledge is the best combination to teach something you feel passionate about.
Being a good teacher is a matter of experience and personality
For me personality means all when teaching something
Teaching means patience, so therefore you are a a patient person you might enjoy this profession. You also need to be good at explanations and examples. Although training does a lot, you need to have been born a teacher otherwise the job becomes difficult
What makes a good language teacher, in my opinion, is the group of students you teach in the first place followed by your personal motivation and background
It depends what type of group you are teaching. If you teach a group of professionals or adult group, they make you a good teacher, as they are capable of drawing conclusions from your teaching methods, whereas if you are teaching children you need to be a teacher continuosly encouraging, supportive, etc.
